๐๐๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐: There will be thousands of ducks racing down the lazy river at Hays Aquatic Park. The ducks will be divided into 2 heats with the top 500 ducks (from each heat) to compete in the big Championship Race! Prizes will be awarded to the first 10 ducks crossing the finish line at the Championship Race. The Grand Prize will be $10,000!! View all prizes here.
๐๐๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ต: There will be a Duck Dash for kids 17 years of age and younger with brightly colored ducks sold for $3 per duck. Each child will get to keep their duck after the race. There will be prizes for the top 20 winners of the Duck Dash. View all prizes here.
๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐๐ - ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ: Businesses can build a boat made only of cardboard and duct tape. It will be a lot of fun with people gathered around cheering their favorite, watching boats sink, and the winner crossing the finishing line. Boats can be painted and decorated, but only cardboard and duct tape may be used to build their boat. Entry into the boat race is $500. View all information here.
The Local Food Truck will be on location and available starting at 5:30. The Local Food Truck will be giving back 10% of their sales from that night!
All proceeds from the Hays Duck Derby benefit Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters in Ellis County to serve children facing adversity in need of a one-to-one mentoring relationship.
